It doesn’t matter what the size of your business is, blogging can add valuable benefits for any organisation.

WMC PR has been writing, distributing and posting monthly PR blogs since 2011 and it continues to help our business in many ways.

You should look at blogging as a long-term strategy, not creating a few blogs here and there, but regularly and consistently. And the content must be good. It needs to be informative, engage the reader, encourage sharing and, if possible, inspire someone to make a connection that will lead to a new relationship or new business.

The top 5 reasons why you should start or continue to blog are:

1. It’s good for SEO

Use keywords and phrases that mean something to your business and write a genuine article that will resonate with your readership base. Choose topics that are fresh and new but do also include any traditional wording that is usually included in search strings.

2. It demonstrates your authority

A well written blog should demonstrate the company’s expertise on a particular subject. If it does, it will enhance the author’s reputation and leadership in the industry, which can only be a good outcome.

3. Enhances trust level

By providing good advice and useful educational content, readers of the blog should gain a favourable insight into your organisation and their trust level towards you will be increased.

4. More likely to be shared

It’s unlikely that people will share an advertisement with their friends or colleagues, but they will share and like a blog. This can help expand its reach and reward you for your efforts.

5. Maintains a relationship with your contacts

It doesn’t matter if you have 100, 1000 or 10,000 contacts on your database. You need to maintain a relationship with them and try and positively show your brand to them on a regular basis. An informative blog allows you do to this, plus achieving all the other benefits as listed above.
